Just saw a twitter post by @eranelbaz which got me thinking, what sort of computer do you all use for game dev?

For me, I basically use a gaming desktop for coding. At some point I may upgrade the graphics card to a proper workstation grade card but that probably wont happen till I start building 3d models (if that ever does happen).

My desktop is:
Processor: Intel Core i7-7700K (4C/8T, @4.6GHz)
RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 (@2400Mhz)
Hard Drive: 1TB NVMe SSD Samsung Pro, 1TB SSD Mushikin
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080TI 11GB
Motherboard: Z270i MSI Gaming Pro Carbon
Power Supply: 650W Gold SFX Power Supply Seasonic
Case: Sharkoon QB One
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro x64

Notebook is an Acer Predator PH315-51:
Processor: Intel Core i7-8750H (6C/12T, @2.20GHz)
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2666MHz
Hard Drive: 256TB NVMe SSD Intel 600, 1TB SSD Samsung Evo
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro x64

I'm with you on using a gaming laptop for coding as well. Hence why I have a second hard drive, one for games and one for projects. πŸ˜„

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-8950HK CPU @ 2.90GHz, 2904 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
RAM: 16.0 GB
Hard Drive 1: 500GB Solid State Drive
Hard Drive 2: 1TB Hard Disk
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 with Max-Q Design
Embedded Card: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630
System Model: Alienware 15 R4
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home

And only reason I got a laptop was because as a kid I really wanted one and never thought I'd ever be able to do it. So I was able to finally and was super pumped for it! lol However the way it's beefed up it literally is a powered desktop with a battery backup. πŸ˜†

I use a macbook pro from 2016. I primarily game on my PlayStation so i dont really need a gaming PC.

I did this the hard way -- how did you get your information? Just checked system?

lol looked at recent amazon purchase :)
