As a father with 2 children I'm interested to hear about how people balance work life with game development while still maintaining a healthy family or social life. If you have any experience (positive or negative) please share!

For me the struggle has been not obsessively working on a project till the point I burn out. So for me I've taken the approach of blocking out time to do things other than game dev. Something that helps me a lot is being really detailed in my To Dos for a project, so that when I get the time to sit down and work on it, I don't have to think about where I left off!
There has been a local community in my area. Before COVID they were meeting twice a month for a workshop. I carved out a time to go and meet with other game devs as a work session, and if I got stuck I had plenty of resources to help me out!
I wonder how long before those sorts of activities resume again :(
